Are They Crazy?

Decisions by committees…good concept…democracy, majority rules, sharing of ideals, etc…

Here is the flaw that lies…”not in the concept”…but many times in the end result of those decisions.

How many times have you heard or read a decision that was made by a group of individuals (a committee)…and you asked “How in the Hell could anyone think and agree that’s a good idea?”

For the sake of simplicity…let’s look at all committees as a “jury” of 12 individuals that make decisions that can affect our lives.  To name just a few …school boards, city councils, committees within committees of government agencies, board of governors, advisory boards, church boards, etc…You get the point?

After reviewing all the facts and options…one’s intellect and common-sense should led to a rational and justifiable decision (don’t confuse intellect with education)… but here lies the answer to the question “How in the Hell could anyone think and agree that’s a good idea?”… because not all committees consist of objective and intellectual individuals.  As the fictitious character Forrest Gump said “stupid is as stupid does”.

Examples:

  • Twelve left wing liberals or 12 right wing conservatives in two different committees viewing the same set of facts…will arrive at a different solution to the problem at hand. Common-sense and objectivity will not exist in either of these environments.
  • A committee of 12 individuals with 2 strong personality that agree…and 10 passive individuals that don’t have a clue are easily intimated and will probably vote in line with two other members…and if those two are “idiots” that would answer you question.
  • A committee of “dueling personalities”…where you have the majority voting with and for the dominate “personality that they liked best”…the subject matter was lost in the duel itself.
  • The committee of “self importance”…the individuals that are so enamored about being on “the committee”… but don’t have a clue and could care less about indulging into researching the subject matter at hand….but will always go along with the majority and are happy as long as their name is pronounced or printed correctly.

NOW…let’s thank the individuals that dedicate their time for the right reasons.  Not for recognition or monetary reasons…but because they may have the experience, expertise, or passion for the subject matter that lends value to that committee.  In the public sector these people truly are public servants that make decisions for the benefit of others.

The reason we may not think or hear about them as often is because they don’t readily factor into… “How in the Hell could anyone think and agree that’s a good idea?”

Ignorance and Stupidity

I haven’t written in a while because of a multitude of reasons that I could name…but the truth is…I just haven’t written in a while.  Writing is one method of releasing my thoughts and opinions of the surroundings in today’s world…in this case we will call it “venting for my own eyes and ears”.

I have always heard that there are two things one should never argue about… “religion” and “politics”.  Sooo…I have decided to write about “ignorance” and “stupidity”.  I am sure that you know a few people that fall into one of these two categories…or both.

Ignorance is “a lack of knowledge” …we are all ignorant but can broaden our horizons by acquiring more knowledge. Stupidity is “being born with a mind protected by a steel-trap and refusing to allow anything to enter”. Ron White (the comedian) has outlined many examples of stupidity and concluded that “You just can’t fix stupid”.  I am an opponent of that statement.

Vigorously regurgitating a political comment or soundbite without knowing the facts or at least exploring some degree of validity of what you heard…falls into the “stupidity” category.  Sometimes it’s better just to shut up. It has been said that God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason…we are to listen twice as much as we are to talk…plus when you are talking you are only learning what you already know…huh?

Mark Twain once said… “Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience”.

Opinions are good…but support them with research and knowledge of the truth …that doesn’t mean that you or the other person will necessarily agree or determine who is right or wrong…but many times it can help you determine which category the other individual falls in…at which time it may be better to talk about the weather or sports.

Speaking of…. “ How about them Cowboys?”

“The Intent”

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common Defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

We the People…hmmm…what an honorable and interesting concept.

 “The Reality”?

Unfortunately it has become more evident that…

 We the Politicians

…will lie, pander, and do whatever is necessary to preserve our well being.

…will be irresponsible with the money that we take from you without hesitation.

…will use your tax dollars to support the projects and groups that can keep us in our position so that we can maintain the status, lifestyle, and perks that we have become accustom to… regardless of how ridiculous or expensive the projects may be.

…will pledge not to diminish any perks or privileges that our predecessors have established on our behalf, and if we can add to them…it will gain us admiration of our fellow co hearts.

do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Do all politicians fit into this framework? … that’s for you to determine. There have been honorable people that have gone to Washington with a mission to do the right thing…but when self-importance, power, influence and status begins to take precedence over that intent…then their mission has failed. When a politician asks his or herself… “Is this decision going to affect my ability to raise money for re-election or cost me votes?”…he or she has sold out.  This is one of the key arguments for term limits….the “idiot” factor is a topic for another day.

“Needed Change”     

We the People…need to wake up… listen… and get involved. Don’t misunderstand me…we need leaders…we need responsible individuals in Washington to communicate with each other and determine and implement decisions that are best for the welfare of this Country.  The concept of our system was well thought out as a check and balance system. “We the Politicians” of today have become an embarrassment to that system. It is our responsibility to elect the right individuals to fill these positions…and replace the ones than can’t. You or I don’t have to run for a political office…we don’t have to be a political pundit…but we should be informed in order to make an intelligent decision when it becomes time to exercise our right to vote.  With today’s technology it is easier to verify the claims and positions of the individuals that are pandering for our vote ….but it is our responsibility to use these sources that are available…and if we don’t “Shame on Us”.

OPEN YOUR EYES

In 1933 a security police agency was created by Hermann Goring to serve the purpose of Nazi Germany and German-occupied Europe. It ruthlessly eliminated opposition to the Nazis within Germany and its occupied territories…and preformed unmentionable atrocities to mankind.  It was known as the “Gestapo”.

So before you get upset with the reference and comparison that I am about to make…just look at the first sentence above and stop…at this similarity.   Their purpose was to identify their opposition and then look for a crime or violation to condemn or remove them.

Today in the Unites States of America there is a visible transparency that some politicians, certain elements of the federal agencies and media have joined forces to eliminate the opposing party.  Not by persuading the American Voters to vote the opposition out of office…but by identifying their opposition and then looking for a crime to attach to them…and using their authority to remove them.  “We the People” elect our representatives…and “We the People” should be the ones to remove them.

Do we make mistakes?…absolutely! …but their actions are by design.  I reluctantly use the term “Public Servants” because in my opinion they (as a whole) are far from doing what best serves the public and the values that this County was founded upon.  Its’ all about self-preservation and power…not the American public.

Don’t fall asleep at the wheel…keep your eyes open to the politics and politicians of today…hold them accountable…and use common sense in your evaluation.  If they don’t follow the path of the Constitution that this County was built on…vote them out…. this is not Nazi Germany of 1933.

In an article by Alina M. Zapalska, she referenced that by teaching the youth of the atrocities that occurred in Nazi Germany during that period of time “…we allow students to comprehend how a society can very subtly and slowly lose sight of ethical values. It demonstrates how a nation can be easily moved to the margins of a society, and then slowly removed from that society all together”.

Treason in the United States?

The definition of treason in the United Stated is defined under 18 U.S. Code & 2381 as:

“Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the Unite States”.

The definition of a Coup:

a sudden and decisive change of government illegally or by force, takeover. group action-action taken by a group of people”.

Preamble to the Constitution: A statement attached to the beginning of the Constitution

“We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United State of America.”

Mythological Trojan Horse:

The Trojan Horse was a huge wooden horse constructed by the Greeks (the horse being the emblem of Troy).  The Greeks hid a select force of men inside and left it outside the gates of Troy…and left, at which time the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy.  That night the Greek force crept out of the horse and destroyed the City of Troy.

The Trojan Horse has arrived in the United States…in the combined form of self-serving politicians, news media, political correctness and people entering the United States…not to assimilate…but to change our laws and way of life.  May God help us.

We the people have elected a group of self-serving individuals who are trying to overthrow the President and our Constitution…and that by definition is a coup and amounts to treason.   What about the other politicians that you say are not involved in that conspiracy?  They are not much better… they don’t have the balls to step up to the plate and do something about it because of political correctness or the effect that it will have on their career.

“We The People” …have got to make ourselves heard by spreading the truth and replace these self-serving public parasites…we are powerless to put them in jail …but we can VOTE THEM OUT regardless of their party affiliation.

The NEW Bi-Partisan Plan

The new bi-partisan plan is very simple…. “to oppose each other”.  I believe that the present two party system has reached a point of no return…in doing what is best for the American people.

The parties are so divided that the only focal point of a politician concerning the American people is “what can I say to them (the American people) to get elected or keep my job”.   We are pandered to or given a “spin” every time a politician opens his or her mouth.  I can understand ideological differences of opposing parties…but I have enough common sense to realize if they don’t compromise for the good of the American people…then they will destroy us.  As for career politicians… if they were that good at what they do… “Why in the Hell are we in such a decline today?” The answer is not complicated…they have been taking care of their own self preservation… instead of ours. You have heard it before “throw the bums out”.  It time for a new breed of elected officials to stands up for the American principals that made this County great.

The politicians are not going to change the rules that restrict “them” or limit their capabilities.  It is up to the conscious and informed to insist that our elected officials do the right thing for the American people. I used the words “conscious and informed”….not necessarily the masses.  If you don’t have a clue that there are 3 branches of governments or know who the Vice President is…then please use your vote on one of the next American Idol contestants.

America was once considered a melting pot and a land of acceptance and opportunity.  Today it is an influx of people that enter this Country as separatist and insist that this Country change to accommodate them.  The new America of “political correctness” and “division” will become our self destruction.   We as “united” Americans need to wake up…open our eyes wide and look at the obvious…it’s before us 24/7.

In the words of Larry Winget… “Grow A Pair”.  Oops…I so sorry that probably wasn’t politically correct.
